Amazing Boozy Watermelon Lemonade

Sharing is caring!

It’s watermelon season! Warm weather and cool drinks go hand and hand don’t they?

Boozy Watermelon Lemonade Recipe

Watermelon is a juicy, delicious and refreshing fruit that’s also good for you, so let’s think of this boozy watermelon lemonade as healthy (a stretch I know!).

Eating foods that have a high water content can also help keep you hydrated. Watermelon is 92% water. The high water content is one of the reasons why fruits such as watermelon help you feel full. The combination of water and fiber means you’re eating a good volume of food without a lot of calories.

One cup of watermelon has many other nutrients including:

  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin A
  • Potassium
  • Magnesium
  • Vitamins B1, B5 and B6

Lemons offer some of the same benefits of watermelon. Not only are lemons a very healthy fruit, but they also have a distinct, pleasant taste and smell that make them a great addition to foods and drinks.

So there we have it folks – a good reason to enjoy this cocktail – you can talk yourself into thinking it’s healthy!

This recipe is super easy to make. It only includes 4 ingredients and takes just a few minutes to make and start enjoying.

Makes 8 servings.

Ingredients:

8 cups fresh watermelon

1 cup vodka

1 cup fresh lemon juice (approx. 6 to 8 medium lemons)

½ cup sugar

2 cups of ice cubes

Water (may be needed depending on quality of watermelon)

Instructions:

  • In a blender combine ice cubes, watermelon, lemon juice, sugar and vodka.
  • Blend well and serve

Notes

1 – Depending on the time of year that you decide to make this drink, you may need to add a bit of extra water to process your mix. We’ve found the watermelons to be much dryer heading towards the winter months.

2 – If you choose to garnish your glasses, don’t forget to put aside a few watermelon and lemon slices.

I love making refreshing cocktails during the hot summer months. Most are super refreshing and you can add to or limit your alcohol content yourself. Most are also easy to make in your blender.

I really like this recipe since it makes 8 servings at one time. Some of the great summer cocktail recipes I find are for only one drink and for some reason never seem to turn out right when you start making the recipe in larger batches.
