For frequent Walt Disney World® Resort visitors, My Disney Experience has been updated and will now allow you to opt out of receiving new magic bands for each new reservation. You still have the option of receiving a new set of MagicBands or not for your next reservation.
In order to opt out, your My Disney Experience account must have an active MagicBand listed and that active MagicBand must be less than one year old.
The battery in MagicBands is not replaceable and according to Disney the battery has a two year life expectancy. Once you opt out, you will be able to change your mind and go back in to order new bands if done within a certain time frame.

My roommate and I are about to renew our Annual Passes to WDW. We get the 4-Park Full Year Annual Pass. Will we need to order new Magic Bands when we renew them?
