I recently had the opportunity to dine at three different restaurants at Disney Springs during a stay in Orlando. Without any doubt, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill was the star of the three.
Wolfgang Puck Disney Springs
Wolfgang Puck and Disney are not strangers. Visitors have been enjoying Wolfgang Puck Express and/or Wolfgang Puck Cafe at Disney Springs for a long time. As I predicted shortly after this location opened, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is the perfect growth of the relationship and a true hit for Disney Springs.
Wolfgang Puck Disney Springs
I have always enjoyed dining at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill (WPBG) at Disney Springs and make sure to eat there each time I’m in Orlando. It seems like the meals get better and better each time.
In the spirit of transparency, my daughter is one of the chefs at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. That being said – some of you may think I’m slightly biased with this review. However, those of you that have read my reviews over the years know that my reviews are always honest. I was giving this restaurant five stars before she had the good fortune to become part of the Wolfgang Puck family.
There are times I visit that the staff isn’t aware that I am the mother of one of the chefs so I never feel as if I am receiving special treatment. I am treated no different than others dining in the restaurant.
During this time with limited capacity and smaller menus due to the pandemic, many of our favorite restaurants seem to be struggling. Staffs have been cut, seating capacity cut, strict pandemic guidelines are in place. WPBG seems to be shining through all of this. The staff appears to be taking it all in stride – making this their new normal.
Checking in at the restaurant is always quick and easy. You are always met by a friendly host/hostess staff. I have never waited more than a few short minutes after checking in.
All employees of the restaurant are wearing face coverings and practicing pandemic guidelines. Once seated our server appeared within seconds to welcome us, offer water and (paper) menus.
Service at WPBG is always top notch. Every server is attentive (without being intrusive). The servers allow enough time for you to make a decision about cocktails and/or meals, but at the same time you don’t feel as if you have been left for very long.
I love the atmosphere at WPBG. The design is a perfect blend of upscale dining and and a comfortable “at home” feeling. You definitely feel at home and comfortable from the minute you enter.
The open kitchen design is not a distraction as it is in some other restaurants. This design in some locations can be annoying because of kitchen noise. I’m always amazed that I never hear any noise from the open kitchen at WPBG.
Let’s get to the food! We started with two of my favorite WPBG items because no visit to WPBG would be complete without them!
Crisp Calamari
Although not an appetizer, sharing a pizza between 5 people lets you have a taste of one of Wolfgang’s pizzas and not spoil your meal!
As much as I want to try many different things on the menu when I visit, I often find myself going back to one of my very favorite meals. Who can pass up freshly made pasta created in-house? None of the pasta dishes EVER disappoints!
Fresh Made Tortellini
Grilled Pork Chop
Flat Iron Steak
Linguini Pasta
Shrimp, Jumbo Lump Crab, Spinach, Oregano Breadcrumbs
Dessert at Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill Disney Springs is always a highlight too! Gelato or Wolfgang’s famous Carrot Cake – always a difficult decision. Or the Spanish Cheesecake! Oh my!
One thing is certain – you will never leave WPBG hungry. Or thirsty! The restaurant offers a large list of cocktails, wines and beers, as well as delicious “mocktails” for those that don’t indulge. Many of the wines are voffered by the glass or the bottle.
overview
Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Disney Springs is an excellent choice for good food and atmosphere. The menu, even during this limited time, has many great options. The service is outstanding.
We all must understand that since reopening after the pandemic shut-down, many restaurants have lost staff – both server and kitchen staff. Many operating with half of the staff they had in place pre-pandemic.
The fact that WPBG, as well as other restaurants in the area, can maintain good food, good turn-around times, and good service with limited staff is outstanding.
