Open for just a few months (since November, 2019) the new Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is definitely going to be a winner and one of those “must do” Disney Springs dining spots.
Of course, Wolfgang Puck and Disney are not strangers. Visitors have been enjoying Wolfgang Puck Express and/or Wolfgang Puck Cafe at Disney Springs for a long time. Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is the perfect growth of the relationship.
I can’t begin to tell you how delighted I was with everything I ate and drank there. The atmosphere is rustic elegance. It makes you fell at home the minute you walk through the door.
The new Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is located in the Town Center section of Disney Springs.
In the spirit of transparency . . . I really wanted to visit Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill to congratulate and visit with Chef Jeff. Chef Jeff, as a young chef, worked with my daughter who is also a chef. They both worked in the Old Village Post House in Mt. Pleasant, SC. A place they were both fortunate to work as young chefs under the guidance of a wonderful mentor – Chef Frank Lee.
As soon as she learned that Chef Jeff would be THE CHEF IN CHARGE at the new Wolfgang Puck in Disney Springs she was over-the-top excited for him and so very proud of him.
Chef Jeff shared with me how he found his way to this new spot as Executive Chef. While working in a restaurant in Florida, one of his regular customers was Wolfgang Puck. When Wolfgang was ready to put someone in charge of his new Disney Springs location, he went right to the young chef he knew and offered him the opportunity.
I’m sure Wolfgang Puck is thrilled with the way things are going since the food was outstanding, the atmosphere beautiful and my entire experience at the restaurant will have me going back many times.
The first thing I noticed was that the menu is exactly the right size with the right choices. So many menus offer so many choices I often can’t decide what I want to eat and then I always wonder if I would have enjoyed something else when I see it being delivered to another table.
Although I would have liked to try one, I knew I didn’t want one of Puck’s famous pizzas since I had pizza for lunch. Honestly, I was extremely tired from a super early morning of travel from South Carolina followed by a full day of activities. I wanted comfort food, and comfort food is what I got.
I started with the Tempura Calamari & Shrimp.
Although an appetizer – you can definitely make a meal of it! Delicious and perfectly done is an understatement.
For my main meal I ordered a pasta with wild mushrooms and parmesan reggiano – true comfort food. I always enjoy pasta and most likely would eat it almost every day if I lived alone and didn’t have to worry about feeding others. This was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
My companion ordered one of the famous pizzas – and was not disappointed!
We ended our meal with a shared Creme Brulee and Espresso Martini.
Every single thing we ate was delicious. I love the atmosphere. You definitely feel at home and comfortable from the minute you enter. The service is outstanding and friendly.
The restaurant also offers a great children’s menu with items that almost every child will love.
The 250-seat restaurant also features a gelato bar and full-service bar serving a selection of cocktails, craft beers and wines. Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
The Disney Dining Plan is accepted at this new location (one meal credit per person) and the restaurant also offers an Annual Pass discount.
This latest celebrity chef location at Disney Springs will definitely be a “must do” for me on future visits.
