Rumors are flying around the Disney Vacation Club community that Walt Disney World® Resort has filed plans and obtained permits to expand the DVC accommodations along Bay Lake once again. This time the expansion will be cabins along the shores of Bay Lake at Wilderness Lodge -similar to the new bungalows at the Polynesian Village Resort, however, these cabins will sit along the shores not over the water.
The plans filed with the South Florida Water Management District, show 26 units to be constructed along the water. Some of the cabins appear to face the Magic Kingdom. Restaurants and recreation accommodations are included in the plans. The plans also include expanded pools. Permits have been filed for work throughout the Wilderness Lodge property, with dates included on that paperwork indicating renovations will run into 2018. (Plan photo courtesy: dvcnews.com)
From a business stand point I understand Disney’s desire to be able to expand some of the successful Disney Vacation Club properties, but are they taking it a bit too far by cluttering up the shores of Bay Lake?
