The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – the final piece of the New Fantasyland expansion – got a good work out this week when Disney filmed a commercial filling the cars of the new attraction with actors. Rumor has it that the start of the five hour planned shoot was delayed slightly while some “kinks” were worked out, but eventually the ride was running, filled with smiling faces for the filming.
This commercial shoot leads us all to believe the attraction will soon be open to visitors of the Magic Kingdom.
There are many rumors circulating about the opening of this attraction with dates ranging from early May to mid-June. Disney is being very secretive about their plans, however, another indication that the attraction may soon be open to the public is a three day media event scheduled for April 29 to May 2. Right in the middle of the itinerary for this media event is a media preview of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Does this mean there will soon be a soft opening? It’s hard to tell since others rumors indicate that Cast Members have not yet gone through the training necessary for ride operation.
The Adult Side of Disney is thrilled to have received an invitation to the three day media event that will also cover the summer plans for the Rock Your Disney Side promotion. I’m sure we will come back with tons of information to share.
