Many guests aren’t aware of the fun and interesting tours just waiting for them at Walt Disney World. If you’re unaware as well, here are four to consider. Please note, prices are current at the time of this writing.
Behind the Seeds Tour
If you’ve ever been to Epcot, you have most likely been on the Living with the Land attraction, located in the Land Pavilion. This widely-popular boat ride through the pavilion’s agricultural displays and greenhouses is informative and exciting, packing a fair amount of knowledge into its 13-minute trip.
There is more to this attraction than meets the eye, however. It’s the behind-the-scenes look at the ride called Behind the Seeds, which provides you with a wealth of information you wouldn’t learn otherwise.
The tour consists of an in-depth look at the intricacies of Living with the Land, including the work put in to maintaining the greenhouses and agriculture, as well as information on construction and plant life.
This tour is roughly 45 minutes long and one of the most affordable at Disney World, at just $25 per adult and $20 per child.
Caring for Giants Tour
It’s all about the elephants! The Caring for Giants Tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a one hour tour that is offered at ten different times throughout the day. The cost is $30 per person and is definitely a fun experience for everyone. All proceeds from the tour go directly to the Disney Conservation Fund.
This is an ideal tour to take with young kids, teens or even just adults. Throughout this experience, you’ll be able to observe the elephants from approximately 80 to 100 feet away.
Children as young as 4 years old are allowed (of course, all children must be accompanied by an adult). The educational experience partnered with seeing the elephants up close is amazing.
Keys to the Kingdom Tour
The Keys to the Kingdom tour, located in the Magic Kingdom, will surprise and delight even the most knowledgeable Disney fan! The adult-only 5-hour walking tour takes you around the park and includes stops at some of Disney World’s most famous attractions.
Your guide takes you through backstage areas and shares behind-the-scenes stories of how attractions in the park were planned out and constructed, in addition to fun facts about Walt Disney himself.
Keys to the Kingdom is an enchanting tour that builds your appreciation for Walt Disney World and enhances the magic throughout. At just $99 per adult, the experience is certainly worth the expense.
Backstage Magic Tour
One of the longest tours at WDW is also one of the most expensive… $199 per person. The Backstage Magic Tour provides guests with a different perspective of Walt Disney World, by taking them to “backstage” areas in places all around the park.
During the tour, you’ll visit many parts of the park that are unseen by most visitors and learn how Walt Disney World is maintained and how it operates so efficiently.
You’ll glean a variety of behind-the-scenes secrets, like how cast members are able to travel to locations without guests knowing where they came from and what goes into creating a Disney show, everything from design to construction to production.
These are just four Walt Disney World tours totally worth taking. If you have the money in your vacation budget, all are highly recommended.
