For purposes of this review, I received free entrance to the Food and Wine Classic. All opinions and comments are my own. No additional compensation was received.
The Fifth Annual Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic was held on October 31 and November 1, 2014. This is truly an event I look forward to each year. Although I love Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival, it can sometimes be overwhelming. The Food and Wine Classic held at the Swan and Dolphin is a perfect size, offering some of the best food in Orlando.
Held each year on the Causeway between the Swan and the Dolphin, the two-evening event features seminars prior to the Causeway festivities. Each station offers samplings of some of the best food offered by the fine dining restaurants located at the resorts, outstanding wine samplings, and this year included a Beer Garden, that I must admit was my favorite! Live entertainment has guests dancing non-stop throughout the evening.
The Beer Garden was popular with many guests even though it was an added/additional option to their tickets. There were many new beers and great “beer type” food in this area. Beers included were from Shipyard, Breckenridge, Delirium Tremens, Peak Organic, Highland, Bell’s, Terrapin, Orange Blossom Pilsner, Abita, Anchor Steam, Florida Beer Company, Boulevard, and Ommegang.
My favorite food sampling would definitely have to be from Shula’s – Tenderloin with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Sauce Bordelaise, followed of course by the desserts!
