Here’s a 2016 Crowd Calendar for Walt Disney World® Resort to look through!
While doing my usual late afternoon internet searching and Twitter reading, I came across this 2016 Crowd Calendar posted on Twitter by @TravellerToday2. The graphic was created by WDW Prep School so I popped over to that site to see if I could find out what the information on the chart is based on. How did they come up with the information used to create the chart? The explanation for the information reads: “Based on years of experience being in the parks at all times of the year, monitoring wait times at Disney World, and researching changing trends about when trips are booked throughout the year, I’ve created a chart to show what I expect the crowds in 2016 to be at Disney World.”
That being said – I have absolutely no clue if the chart is accurate but thought I would share it anyway and you can be the judge. I have years of experience being in the parks and researching trends but I’m not sure I would be willing to create a graphic that may mis-lead some into believing they are traveling at a low crowd level time. Looking at this chart I can’t say I would be surprised if it was not accurate. There is lots of “green” low attendance on here and as someone that visits WDW 4 or 5 times a year, I can’t say that there are that many low crowd periods (in my opinion). I also think listing the time period when runDisney’s Princess Half Marathon takes place in February or the Star Wars Half Marathon in April as moderate crowds is risky since these events draw large crowds into the resorts and parks. Fingers crossed if you use the chart to plan a trip there is a certain amount of accuracy!
