Hi-Diddily-Ho! and Hey Hey Kids! Myrtle Beach just got a little bit more Okily Dokily! The Simpsons in 4D has taken over a part of Broadway at the Beach and I was super excited to be included in a media preview for the grand opening.
Marge and Homer with little Maggie were strutting their stuff on the red carpet for this new show and will be in place welcoming all visitors as they enter the theater.
The colorful guests all around the Springfield Aztec Theater will definitely draw attention to this new attraction. Both the inside and outside are adorned with the residents of Springfield in a colorful and humorous way and make great back-drops for photo opps.
As with all 3D or 4D performances, on your way into the theater you pick up a pair of special glasses.
When I first entered the theater, I was a bit surprised by the comfortable looking seats and even though I knew the experience is 4D I was still surprised by the amount of space between seats.
Once the show started, I understood the spacing! Your seat rocks. Your seat rolls. Your seat has you right in the middle of the action. Your seat is synced to the show giving motion, water, smell, wind, & fog effects.
Both movies/cartoons included in the show are absolutely the Simpsons at their best – super enjoyable and full of surprises.
The attraction lasts about 15 minutes which in my opinion is the perfect timing. Not so long that little ones may have an issue staying interested. A small word of caution for children with sensory issues: Parts of the show could possibly be a slight concern so check with the theater before entering.
Once the show is over you exit through – you guessed it – the Kwik-E-Mart, where you’ll find lots of refreshments including Buzz Cola, heat-lamp hot dogs and Lard Lad Donuts, as well as Squishee flavored drinks — all inspired by the TV show.
The attraction is near Dragon’s Lair Fantasy Golf, is open daily. You can purchase tickets at the box office. All tickets include a free digital souvenir photo of you with The Simpsons family on the red carpet.

The Simpsons in 4D is now open at Broadway at the Beach. This highly-anticipated attraction features authentic recreations of the show’s famous Kwik-E-Mart and iconic Aztec Theater, bringing a slice of Springfield to South Carolina’s most popular tourist destination.
The Aztec Theater is a family-friendly motion experience in a state-of-the-art 4D theater that showcases a dynamic special effects-filled adventure starring America’s favorite animated family, The Simpsons™.
Characters from Springfield, U.S.A. are lined up outside of the Aztec Theater as part of the fun exterior design. Inside the Aztec Theater lobby, join Homer and Marge on the red carpet, celebrate the career of Troy McClure, and enjoy pre-show clips featuring some of Springfield’s finest, including Itchy and Scratchy.
There’s more to explore at the authentic Kwik-E-Mart next door. The fully-themed convenience store has been brought to life with select products, including Buzz Cola, Lard Lad Donuts and six show-inspired Squishee flavors.
