We all know about the most popular Pigeon Forge TN things to do – Dollywood, Dollywood’s Splash Country, Dollywood’s Dreammore Resort & Spa (all of which I will be writing about this week!). But – Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area really has so much more to offer!
I’ll admit I wasn’t really sure what to expect so I was truly surprised by all the things there are to do in the area.
Pigeon Forge is bursting at the seams with things to do for the entire family. Play a game of Mini-golf or race to the finish at one of the go-kart tracks, go on an adventure in in the Smoky Mountains or take in one of the many dinner shows – the adventure never ends when you get to Pigeon Forge.
Below are just a couple of my favorites.

Frizzle Chicken Farmhouse Cafe
So – what the heck is a frizzle chicken? Frizzle chickens are a very unique type of chicken.
The Frizzle chicken is a breed that has been around for some time – since the 1600s! This unique chicken breed is beloved around the world for its humorous appearance and its cuddly demeanor.
A frizzle chicken is a docile, gentle and quiet chicken with unique feathers that curl out. These chickens are known for being friendly, gentle, and sweet. They are docile and soft-spoken and are great for families because they do well at being handled. It is not uncommon for Frizzle chickens to become lap chickens or even pets, in fact!
Frizzle chickens are family-friendly and are mainly exhibit/show ring chickens so they are used to showing off!
The Frizzle Chicken Farmhouse Cafe is located right next to the Comedy Barn in Pigeon Forge. They have taken the frizzle chicken into an entirely new dimension. I never imagined I could have so much fun eating breakfast!

If you are visiting Pigeon Forge, you can’t miss the Frizzle Chicken Farmhouse Cafe. The restaurant serves both breakfast and lunch. You can get either from opening to close (7 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The menu offerings make it hard to make a decision – even now when menus everywhere are smaller than normal and offering fewer choices.
The Menu
First of all – the prices are amazing! Along with the regular (reduced at this time) menu, the restaurant also offers daily specials. On the day we visited, the special breakfast of the day was a Cinnamon Roll Pancake.
Everything we ordered was delicious!
Frizzle Chicken Fun
I never imagined that 100+ singing, swaying animatronic chickens could be so entertaining!
From gourmet pancakes to signature biscuit dishes, there is something on the menu for everyone! Make sure to visit hungry and then prepare to leave full. Frizzle Chicken Farmhouse Cafe is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. for breakfast and lunch. You definitely won’t be disappointed that you visited – you may even go back more than once!
Located at 2785 Parkway in Pigeon Forge, you’ll have the best southern-style breakfast or lunch while having a great time!
Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction in Pigeon Forge TN
Dolly Parton’s Stampede is filled with friendly North and South competition, thrilling horse riding stunts, spectacular special effects, phenomenal musical productions plus a mouth-watering four-course feast complete with a delicious dessert!
Dolly Parton’s Stampede is a fun-filled, action-packed show that everyone should experience. Plus, it’s just minutes from Sevierville, Dollywood theme park, Dollywood’s Splash Country, Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s perfect for families and friends and is full of good, clean fun!
On your way into the show you can walk down the row of horse stalls and get an up-close look at all of the horses that star in the show. One horse is more beautiful than the next!

The Island in Pigeon Forge TN
The Island provides the area’s newest shopping, dining and entertainment options in the East Tennessee area. I was super impressed with the types of shops, food and entertainment offered.
The Island is a 23 acre entertainment destination with over 80 shops, restaurants and attractions. Just like everything else in Pigeon Forge – there’s plenty to do for every member of the family!
The highlight is a 200 foot observation wheel that lets you look out over the Great Smoky Mountains. Fountains are programmed to perform to light and music. Dancing music to Elvis tunes!
Special events throughout the year make The Island a spot to visit over and over again too. From seasonal desserts and moonshine flavors to custom decorations and photo ops, The Island is a must-see during many events throughout the year.
Pigeon Forge TN in General
You can spend days exploring the Pigeon Forge area – the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (which gets over 12 million visitors a year), hiking trails, and experiencing rivers and streams added to unique attractions, dinner shows, restaurants and more makes Pigeon Forge a major tourist and family vacation destination.
Add in all of the Dollywood attractions and Pigeon Forge is the best ever spot for your next family trip! Pigeon Forge is filled with fun activities that include thrilling attractions, award-winning shows, countless options for dining, shopping and lodging.
