I’m seriously excited about the Newest Addams Family Movie!

Admit it – if you were a fan of the original Addams Family in the 60’s – you just sang that title! I was a huge Addams Family fan and through the years have watched every rerun and every reboot. I don’t know who I loved more – Cousin IT or Lurch!

They’re creepy and they’re kooky,
Mysterious and spooky,
They’re altogether ooky,
The Addams Family.

Their house is a museum
When people come to see ’em
They really are a scream

The Original Addams Family

The original Addams Family was an odd clan who delighted in the macabre and were seemingly unaware, or did not care, that other people found them bizarre or frightening. The Addams Family originally appeared as an unrelated group of 150 single-panel cartoons, half of which were originally published in The New Yorker between their debut in 1938 and Charles Addams’ death in 1988.

In 1964, a live-action television series, starring John Astin and Carolyn Jones, premiered on ABC and subsequently inspired a 1977 television film and cameos from the cast in other shows. An unrelated animated series aired in 1973. The franchise was revived in the 1990s with a feature film series consisting of The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993).

Here we are in 2019 and The Addams Family is still delighting viewers and gaining an entire new generations of fans!
