In the February, 2016 issue of the Disney Social Media Moms Newsletter there was a small little post, almost at the bottom, introducing a new Disney Floral & Gifts offering.
I read it. I read it again. I immediately called and booked it for my scheduled trip with my granddaughter at the end of February. Every little girl wants to be a Princess. Every little girl deserves to be a Princess. I couldn’t wait to have my granddaughter proclaimed an honorary Princess at Walt Disney World. I couldn’t be more thrilled with how this turned out! I knew my granddaughter would love it and I was right!
“This is the best day of my life!” is what my granddaughter said after Cinderella proclaimed her an honorary Princess for the day! Who could ask for a better reaction! That simple sentence made it worth every penny. Unforgettable really does happen at Walt Disney World!!!
Tip #1: You must already have a reservation for one of the Princess dining locations on property such as Cinderella’s Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall or 1900 Park Fare. When you call to book, they will ask for your dining reservation number to verify. I already had a breakfast reservation for Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (one of our favorites).
The cost is $143 plus tax plus delivery charge for a total of $174. This cost includes:
- Small children’s tiara in a satin bag
- Vinyl Storybook Moment folio with proclamation insert and space for your own photo. This is where the Princess (of your choice) will sign the proclamation
- Princess Sash
- Pink Storybook Moment tote bag
- You get to pick which Princess will proclaim your little one an honorary Princess
- and…so much more!
Tip #2: Not for children under 3. Disney Floral & Gifts will not book this package for children under the age of 3.
You will be given a choice of having the package waiting at your table when you arrive for your reservation or having it delivered to your table after you are seated. I decided to have it delivered after we were seated thinking this would be a bit more “grand!” The package comes wrapped in a glittery bag and immediately had my granddaughter’s eyes wide and had her giggling with anticipation.
IMPORTANT Tip #3: When booking the package, Disney Floral & Gifts asks for the name of the recipient. In my case – that was my granddaughter who has a different last name then I do. When Disney Floral delivered the package to Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, they gave it to the restaurant with instructions to deliver to “Madison Martin Table”. Well – Madison Martin (age 7) didn’t have a reservation or a table – I did, so the restaurant did experience some confusion with where the package should go. Fortunately, a few minutes after we were seated I checked with the Hostess while my family was getting their food and we rectified the error. Since it’s a new package I was o.k. with this since every new system needs to work out the kinks (but I did call Disney Floral later in the day with feedback to prevent the same mix-up happening with others).
Each Princess that visited the table, gave their own special words of advice on the importance of being an honorary Princess.
The Akershus Royal Banquet Hall staff delivered a special “Frozen” cupcake to the newly proclaimed honorary Princess.
And…. the highlight of my day ~ I was proclaimed to be “the best!” and had a newly proclaimed Princess wanting to stick close to my side just in case I had any more surprises up my sleeve!
My Storybook Moment is also available in other characters and themes, such as Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse (including a “Best Friends” lanyard and Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse Ear Hat), Sheriff Woody (including an official cowboy hat, bandana, and sheriff’s badge) and many more. This looks amazing. I am thinking about doing this for my daughter and her friend. However they both are 13. I contacted Disney floral and we can substitute the childs tiara for a “Junior” one – however they said that the princess sash would only fit a small child. The one in your photos looks bigger and may actually fit. Any thoughts?
I think the sash was huge. The sage would fit a young adult with no problem. I wouldn’t worry about getting anything bigger. It fell off my granddaughter all day. We ended up getting safety pins and pinning it in place.
What a fantastic gift! I am raising three boys, so this will be something I can look forward to doing if and when I am blessed with granddaughters! Thanks for sharing!
It really was one of the best extras I ever arranged.
This experience looks like it was everything you were dreaming it would be; she is one beautiful princess!! (And you are one perfect Fairy Grandmother!!)
It was really perfect!
Practically princess perfect in every way! <3
It really was a great time!
It was really one of the best extras I ever did!
