I was provided free entry to Marvel Live by Bisbee and Company, Orlando Publicists for Feld Entertainment. All opinions are my own.
When we finally took our seats in the Amway Center on Friday, December 5, for the Marvel Universe Live show, I honestly had no idea what to expect. Two hours later, I was completely blown away by the performance and have to say, I would do it again in a heartbeat! My seven-year-old son and ten-year-old niece and I had a blast!
The set design for the Marvel Universe Live show was clever and so well done. The backdrop and the floor are both used as large projection screens for each scene. The lighting was fantastic; the show used lasers in multiple scenes and several of the sets did double duty for different scenes using different lighting techniques that really added to the show. It was incredibly creative.
The live action in the show was extremely well done! As our heroes battled the villains in an effort to gather all the pieces of the Cosmic Cube to end Loki’s evil reign over the universe, we saw hand to hand fighting, some gymnastics, several motorcycle/motocross bike scenes (using what must have been electric bikes, because the sound for them was piped in and you couldn’t smell any exhaust in the arena), some pyrotechnics and an extensive series of pulleys and ropes to really bring the action to life.
The array of superheroes and villains in the show was amazing. When all said and done, more than 25 Marvel characters made an appearance during the two hour performance. We loved seeing Iron Man bring together his team to find the pieces of the Cosmic Cube and bring Loki to justice. It was fun to watch Spider Man swinging and hanging from the ceiling, Bruce Banner riding on a motorcycle, the evil Red Skull flying by in his space ship and Electro with his powers, which were all brought to life in this show.
All in all, this is a well done show that kids of all ages will enjoy. The dark theatre and booming sound system may be too much for very young viewers to handle, but if they love superheroes, they should be just fine. We loved it and would go again if given the opportunity!
A huge thanks to The Adult Side of Disney for inviting me to be a guest on the blog today!! I had a blast!
