You know I always say – There’s more to Florida than theme parks!
Marco Island Florida
Marco Island is a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico off Southwest Florida, linked to the mainland by bridges south of the city of Naples. It’s home to resort hotels, beaches, marinas and golf courses, as well as a network of inland waterways.
A long, sandy beach covers most of the west coast, with resort hotels in the south. Tigertail Beach Park has a tidal lagoon, popular for kayaking and paddleboarding.
It has been described as magical, mystical and alluring. The attraction is tropical sun-washed white sand beaches and a casual easy paced lifestyle. Sunshine, frolicking dolphins, and all of the water and sun sports that go with being at the beach are available for your pleasure.
The natural environment in and around Marco Island provides the perfect backdrop for both relaxing and adventurous activities.
Marco Island is the largest barrier island of the Ten Thousand Islands. The Ten Thousand Islands are a chain of islands and mangrove islets off the coast of southwest Florida. The Ten Thousand Islands were used and occupied by Native Americans for thousands of years.
Once you’ve decided to visit the little island with a heart of gold, also known as Marco Island, you’ll probably start wondering about where you should stay.
Lucky for you, we’ve taken the guess work out of that by breaking down some of the more popular options!
Sailing the South Seas is the perfect romantic retreat, but also a great option for solo visitors looking for a quiet and peaceful place to spend a few days. Sailing the South Seas is a quiet retreat with gorgeous condos scattered right on the beach. This resort is fairly quiet, but still closely located to some of the Island’s best attractions.
Sandcastles is a beachfront resort for the busy and active traveler. Yes you get the same great views, and gorgeous beaches, but a little more too. The resort offers Jacuzzi service, tennis courts, a shuffleboard court, and even a heated pool. These condos are also a good choice for families, but make sure to keep your kids away from the adult amenities. Located right on the beach, you’ll love rolling out of bed in the morning, and rolling onto the sand.
Angler’s Cove is perfect for anyone looking for a quieter retreat. This isn’t located near the beach, so your chances of running into loud and screaming children are next to none. You will find your own private screened in porch for relaxing afternoons, and a tiki bar when you want to have a little fun.
The Apollo Condominiums are something different in terms of rentals on the Island. Here you’ll find that each individual condo is owned and rented by different owners. You might find a great place to stay, or a not so great place. If you’re feeling a little hesitant, try contacting the owner directly for some great photos of the place before you send in your deposit. It doesn’t matter which one you choose though because you’ll have an excellent private balcony, and some phenomenal views.
Make sure that you book your rental on Marco Island early to save some money, and make sure you wrangle yourself the best place for your needs. Wait too long and you might just see that perfect rental disappear!
No matter what your budget or style, there’s somewhere waiting for you on Marco Island.
