Keep Busy at Home

Cabin fever is in full swing right now for just about everyone!

We’ve been home now for longer than anyone ever thought they would be home. We are all running out of new things to do that will keep us and the kids busy.

We are also at the stage where many of us have run out of stockpiled craft supplies, cooking supplies and baking supplies. Thank heavens for Amazon!

We have to reframe this time of isolation as an opportunity. We all now have more time for self-improvement: work on personal finances, take up a hobby, deep clean a closet.

Never before have we been so connected, even as we remain physically distant. I have put together a round from a few other bloggers that will give you ideas, tips, and projects to help keep you busy and and having a little fun.

First Up – KEEP KIDS BUSY WITH THESE FUN HANDS-ON STORY ACTIVITIES from Ripped Jeans and Bifocals.

This post is full of great ideas for book activities with the kids and will definitely fill some time with fun and learning.

We all love to have some Disney magic at home normally. With all of this isolation, having Disney at home will really bring smiles to the family!

Take a look at some of the great ways to bring Disney into your home with these 101 Ways to Add More Disney to Your Home from Spreading Magic.

The post includes games, puzzles, food ideas and more!

Everybody loves Oreos and our friend over at A Princess and Her Pirates has super simple directions to make Minnie Mouse Oreo Treats.

It’s always fun to bring a little Disney into your food. These Minnie Mouse Oreo Treats are easy, and can be customized to fit any decor or stay-at-home party!

Disney coloring sheets are always a huge hit and can entertain the entire family for hours.

Our friends from Jones Family Travels have 291 Disney Coloring Sheets & Printables for you and the kids to enjoy.

I have also been trying to publish things to keep the family busy while we are all in isolation. I hope you’ve had an opportunity to check some out and that they have helped spend some time having fun with the family!

Here are just a few if your family is looking for some extra things to do!

I hope you are all healthy and happy. We are all in this together and we will be back to normal soon. It may be a “new normal” but we’ll all be O.K.!

Let us know if there are any special ways you are keeping busy at home. Along with all of the great crafts, coloring sheets and recipes I’ve tried, I also now have very clean and organized closets, cabinets and drawers! I prefer the crafts and recipes!

As concerts are postponed, sporting events are canceled, schools are closed and tourist hot spots are shut down, experts are recommending that even those who show no sign of illness stay home during this time of global pandemic.

Although remaining inside is a good way to protect ourselves and our family from the coronavirus, it is definitely leading to a lesser evil: boredom and stir craziness. At some point, even the most introverted of us are going to go stir crazy — especially if you’ve got kids cooped up inside.

Until we can all meet up again – stay safe – stay healthy and stay happy!
