Finding Dory is another one of those great Disney•Pixar tales that teaches us a valuable lesson. The friendly-but-forgetful blue tang fish reunites with her loved ones, and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way. I am always thrilled with the lessons learned in each Disney•Pixar film but this one is particularly important – FAMILY!
During this year’s Disney Social Media Moms Celebration I was fortunate to be able to see a portion of Finding Dory and hear all about it from the producer. Without giving away any of the story – I can tell you that the entire family with love this film! Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?
It took 13 years to create a sequel to Finding Nemo. Lindsey Collins, Producer of Finding Dory explained it took so long because the director of Finding Nemo, felt Nemo’s story was over and complete and didn’t feel there was any more to talk about or explore. One day though he realized that Dory needed to be explored and explained.
Taking place six months after Finding Nemo, Dory suddenly recalls her childhood memories. Remembering something about “the jewel of Morro Bay, California”, accompanied by Nemo and Marlin, she sets out to find her family. She arrives at the Monterey Marine Life Institute, where she meets Bailey, a white beluga whale; Destiny, a whale shark; and Hank, an octopus, who becomes her guide.
Dory is so delightful its hard not to cheer for her all through the film. Since Dory suffers from short term memory loss – memory plays a huge part of the film so let’s share some
