I recently had the opportunity to get a sneak peek – exclusive sampling of the new “Flavors of Summer” price fixe menu being offered this July and August at Hemingway’s located at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando. It’s no secret that the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort is one of my favorites. The service offered throughout this resort, in all areas, is outstanding. I have written in the past about the resort in general – Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, as well as their other restaurant – Cascades American Bistro.
Hemingways offers the cuisine you have read about in the writings of Ernest Hemingway that tell the tales of his fishing expeditions from “Cayo Hueso” to the coast of Cuba. The culture and cuisine of these areas are portrayed in the restaurant that is home to many of “Papa’s” favorite dishes.
The “Flavors of Summer” menu that will be offered during July and August is so reasonably priced it is hard to pass up. The menu offers 3 courses at a price of $64 per couple or $89 per couple with Canvas wine pairing.
The menu offers a choice of appetizers:
- Key Wester Salad – Crispy Applewood smoked bacon, capicola, avocado, Maytag bleu cheese dressing
- Key Lime Caesar – Romaine lettuce, fresh Florida key lime juice, shaved asiago, caramelized pecans, white anchovies
- Florida Rock Shrimp Chowder – Zellwood sweet corn, diced potato, cracked black pepper,c rispy potato
Choice of Entrees:
- Hemingway’s “Cayo Hueso” Crab Cakes
- Duvall Street Shrimp Scampi
- Cuban Criollo Chicken
- Crispy Black Fin Snapper
Choice of Desserts:
- Key Lime Tart
- Peanut Butter Bombe
Hemingway’s did not disappoint. The food, the service, the atmosphere – all exceptional. The new “Flavors of Summer” menu is such a great value for the price, I doubt there is any other location in the area that offers you a full, 3 course meal of excellent food with wine for under $100.
The lounge attached to the restaurant is a popular bar with visitors and locals and overlooks the beautiful grounds of the resort, offering an extensive list of wines, cocktails and light appetizers.
Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (407) 239-3854.
The blogger was provided the service free of charge – however, all opinions are my own
