One of our favorite Walt Disney World® Resorts to stay at is Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Its theme is of the turn of the twentieth century Atlantic City Boardwalk. The BoardWalk Resort has a regular deluxe hotel and DVC villas. We have stayed at both. We love the boat transportation. It is not on the Monorail line to Magic Kingdom® but, we just love to ride the boats to Epcot® and Hollywood Studios. The boats are just like an extra ride to us. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to one of the Theme Parks mentioned above since the boats stop at the Yacht Club, and The Dolphin and Swan on the way to the Hollywood Studios. It depends where you go to how many stops the boats make. I enjoy the beauty of the Swan and Dolphin, and also The Yacht and Beach Club on the way. What a nice bonus with the boat ride!
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn also has a beautiful garden area and a fabulous lobby as it is a Deluxe Disney Resort. During Christmas the lobby has a beautiful Gingerbread House to purchase goodies from. My secret is the Gingerbread they sell that looks like an ice cream cone is frosted and so good you will need to buy 2!
We prefer to stay in the villas rather than in a room. Sometimes the prices are close to the same with the specials Disney runs throughout the year. A one bedroom villa has a living room, kitchen with dishes, pots, pans and a Jacuzzi tub and shower. Also included are a washer and dryer. When we stay a week we like to have all of these amenities. When we do not buy the dining plan we usually eat breakfast in the room before leaving. Sometimes we have to budget our vacation but, then we also like to splurge. Matthew will always say, “Just order room service Mom.”
We love the “clown” pool. It is called, The Keister Coaster. It has a 200 ft. waterslide and is themed after wooden roller coasters of the day. There are also games for the children to play with the Cast Members. We really love this pool and slide.
When nighttime comes, there are entertainers outside. If it is raining the entertainers move to the inside lobby area. They magically appear about the time of Illuminations at Epcot. There is a juggler and a magician. They really “WOW” the kids and they love it! Adults seem to love the shows too! My son always wants to go watch the shows when we are not at, The BoardWalk Resort. These entertainers are just fabulous!! The lights on at night look like Tinker Bell spread pixie dust everywhere! There is so much to do and so many places to eat! We love the pizza window since Mickey makes the best pizza! There is a bakery, a candy shop and also several restaurants.
The BoardWalk encircles Crescent Lake and it is a short walk to the bridge area that leads to Epcot. You can watch Illuminations from there. You can rent Surrey bikes and ride all over the BoardWalk and ride past The Beach and Yacht Club Resorts. There are several nightclubs for the adults on the BoardWalk also. There is just so much to do!
Next time if you cannot decide where to stay or want to try a new Disney Resort remember Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas. I think you will love it there like my family does!
