Move over eHarmony – there’s a new Disney Dating APP in town!
Los Angeles Magazine on-line reported yesterday the launch of a new dating APP that caters to Disney lovers – Mousemingle.com. The APP was created by a Culver City, CA self-proclaimed software geek and former Disneyland employee.
Members are asked to check information boxes regarding their favorite Disney songs, Disney shopping habits, and “Disney nerd level” in the hopes of finding a match. Anyone can view user profiles and photos, but contacting someone requires a $12.55 (the “55” is a nod to the year the park opened) monthly membership fee.
Personally, if I were single, I’m not sure this would be the dating site for me. I am a huge Disney fanatic and have been happily married for over 30 years to someone that has absolutely no interest in anything Disney. I’m not sure why this works for us – but it does. I visit Disney parks regularly without him.
One of the first warnings that came to mind: Many people associate Disney with everything wonderful ~ pixie dust and magic! Hopefully they will be just as careful using this dating APP as they would be using any other on-line source for meeting someone. As a non-member I was not able to get very far into the site to look at the process for “weeding” out any bad apples. Since non-members can search and view profiles, I was able to look at what you would enter in your search. That information is mostly Disney related only. Just knowing someone’s level of Disney love would not really be enough for me.
