THEME

Are you a family with small children and you want a colorful, Disney character themed resort or a couple looking for seaside luxury. Each Walt Disney World resort has a different theme from the Boardwalk of Atlantic City to giant characters from the best loved Disney movies.

HOW MUCH TIME WILL YOU SPEND AT YOUR RESORT/AMENITIES

Are you the type of family that is waiting in line for the parks to open each day and stays until the very last hour? You know – the “as long as I have a bed to sleep in” family. If you are, you won’t need a large or luxurious room to just sleep and shower in. If you are a family that likes to get a late start after a swim or return mid-day for a rest, or will be spending some days not going to the parks, look for the resorts with rooms that are a little bigger or the resorts with large (or more) pools. Remember, the higher the level of resort, the better the quality of amenities.

RESORT DINING

The higher level of resorts often have better dining options since the value resorts usually offer quick service dining only. Some have more than one to choose from.

HOW IMPORTANT IS SERVICE?

If personal service is important to you – higher level resort categories are where you should look.

LOCATION-LOCATION-LOCATION

When choosing a resort, to you want to get to the parks via monorail, boat, or bus? You will most likely want to choose a resort that is closest to where you plan to spend lots of time. I’m an EPCOT person so always like to stay at one of the resorts closest to EPCOT.

How do you decide where to stay?
