Original Post before Confirmation:
Rumors are flying. The internet is buzzing. Negativity is everywhere. The latest in the Walt Disney World Resort rumor mill is that Disney will now be charging resort guests to park their cars overnight at the resorts. Several sites have been reporting that this is a final and definite change. I have spent the morning trying to confirm this and basically found that as of now, it’s a rumor. There has been no definite release of this information by Disney.
Here is the RUMOR:
The new policy will begin March 21, 2018. Cost will be different depending on the level of resort you are staying in. Deluxe Resorts – $25/per night; Moderate Resorts – $19/per night; Value Resorts – $13/per night. Disney Vacation Club members will not be charged for parking when staying at Deluxe Villa Resorts. Valet Parking at the resorts will increase from $25 to $33.

Does it have a chance to be true? Absolutely. Does it have a chance to be false? Absolutely. I personally would not be happy paying a daily fee to park my car at my Disney resort but will reserve judgement until an announcement is made by Disney. I tend to stay in the deluxe resorts and a $25 per night parking fee added to my stay will definitely add way too much to the cost of my stay. Most of the deluxe resorts are already at an outrageous cost per night without adding to that amount.
Until it is confirmed by Disney and posted to their website, the pay to park at resorts is only a rumor. It’s a touchy subject for sure and one that will affect tons of visitors. Until Disney publishes a press release or announces this new charge in another way, it is only speculation.
Let’s give it time and see if Disney makes an official announcement.
