Despite awaking to a grey and (sometimes) wet sky, everyone was eager to get off the ship to Castaway Cay, and our private cabana. We grabbed a light breakfast from the Concierge Lounge and met up with our friends to disembark.
I’m so glad we made friends with experienced cruisers…I had no idea there were such neat picture spots and meet opportunities on the pier. After a picture with the ship in the background, and another with Donald Duck, some of us headed off to the cabana while one good soul (our new friend) stayed behind so the boys could meet Captain Jack Sparrow.
If you have the opportunity to rent a cabana at Castaway Cay I highly recommend it . This was our 1st (and last) encounter with bad weather. But that didn’t bother us, we just hunkered down in our cabana with drinks and lunch and let the boys play in the rain.
After the weather cleared, we trekked down to Monstro Point for the family whale skeleton excavation. On the way back to the beach we stopped at the splash pad area to wash off the remaining excavation.
