It Really Is Wonderful to See Her! Newest Mary Poppins Returns Clip

Each time I see a clip or another new image from Mary Poppins Returns, I get just a little nostalgic. The original Mary Poppins was one of my very favorites growing up. In 1964 I was 10 years old and I was totally smitten with Mary.

My parents had recently divorced, my mother had gone to work. Each day after school I was sent into the convent for the nuns to watch me do homework while I waited for my mother to come from work.

While I sat at the kitchen table in the convent, I secretly wished Mary Poppins was my nanny. I truly wanted to dance with penguins and have a spoonful of sugar with each dose of medicine I took. I wanted to go fly a kite.

I think I must have watched the original movie 50 times! It was such a wonderful place to visit. Mary was the perfect nanny.

I am anxiously waiting for Mary to return – It really is wonderful to see her again!

Live Action Lion King Trailer is Definitely a Huge Hit!

Picture it (in my best Sophia from the Golden Girls voice)  . . Millions of Thanksgiving family celebrations . . . Millions of kids who loved the original Lion King are now adults with their own kids – home with Mom and Dad . . . they hear the familiarity of James Earl Jones’ steady narration as he reprises his role as Mufasa . . . Millions of kid like adults singing songs from the Lion King – It gave me all the happy feels.

This trailer is definitely a comforting blanket of warm and fuzzy feelings when you watch the the legendary opening scene we all have come to love – when Rafiki the baboon presents the future king cub to his people.

It gave me chills!

The release of this trailer by Disney tells us that the live action Lion King will keep true to the original. The plot will most likely remain unchanged. A baby lion cub named Simba is born to King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi, who rule over the Pride Lands of Africa from Pride Rock. Simba is being trained to take over his father’s kingship when Mufasa passes. His jealous uncle, Scar, covets the kingdom for himself. Scar convinces young Simba he is to blame for his father’s death and urges him to flee. Simba does so, and Scar becomes king, with three obnoxious hyenas as his henchmen.

The Lion King will hit theaters July 19, 2019 – 25 years after the original animated feature’s release.

Directed by Jon Favreau, The Lion King will be fabulous! Look what he did with The Jungle Book!

The cast includes Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, while JD McCrary voices Young Simba. Let’s not forget (how could we?) James Earl Jones.

Elton John will also return to remaster music from the original film along with collaborator Tim Rice. Four of the original songs from the original: ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’, ‘Hakuna Matata’, ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King’ and ‘Circle of Life’ should definitely make it into this live action movie.

So many new releases will all be coming around the same time – Dumbo, Aladdin, Toy Story 4 and The Lion King will all be released in summer 2019.

Don’t forget Mary Poppins Returns coming next month!

Don’t Just Fly – Soar! Live Action Dumbo Trailer and Poster

This trailer made me cry. This trailer gave me chills. I would expect nothing less from Tim Burton!

Tim Burton’s live action Dumbo brings everyone’s favorite little guy with the huge ears to life in that special way that only Tim Burton can. My initial reaction was that the circus was just a wee bit eerie but when you consider Dumbo takes place in a failing circus of the 1940’s, the atmosphere fits.

I realized watching this trailer that through the years we have all remembered the cute, adorable Dumbo but many of us have forgotten the heartbreaking story and the lessons learned. We have chosen to remember what Dumbo becomes but have put aside how he got there.

Tim Burton’s live action version will definitely remind us how it all started and the lessons learned – When all seems lost . . . Find your courage and Embrace what makes you different!

From Disney and visionary director Tim Burton, the all-new grand live-action adventure DUMBO expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished and dreams take flight. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose over-sized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.

They’re Back! And I Can’t Wait! Toy Story 4 Trailers!

“So long, partner.” – (Woody, saying farewell to Andy-TS3). But here we are waiting for Toy Story 4. Why? Because . . . “the thing that makes Woody special, is he’ll never give up on you . . . ever. He’ll be there for you, no matter what.” (Andy, sharing with Bonnie about Woody’s importance in his life in TS3).

The toys are back! Disney released the first teaser for Pixar’s Toy Story 4 giving us just a little tiny look at our old friends Woody, Buzz and Jessie along with a new face Forky inside Bonnie’s room.

NEW TOY? – Everyone’s favorite pull-string cowboy sheriff Woody, along with his best friends Buzz Lightyear and Jessie, are happy taking care of their kid, Bonnie, until a new toy called “Forky” arrives in her room. According to Forky, a spork-turned-craft-project, he’s not a toy at all—and he’d rather skip this big adventure completely, if only they’d let him.

Woody’s journey in Toy Story 4 includes a visit to a carnival where he meets Ducky and Bunny, two carnival prizes who are eager to be won. But when their plans are rudely interrupted by Woody and his friends, they find themselves on an unexpected adventure with a group of toys who have no idea what it feels like to be tacked to a prize wall.

In Toy Story 4 Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack return as the voices of Woody, Buzz and Jessie, and comedian Tony Hale lends his voice to Forky.

Toy Story originally released in 1995, was the first fully computer animated feature film and the highest grossing movie of the year. In 1999 Toy Story 2 came along and became the first animated sequel to gross more than it’s original.

2010 brought us Toy Story 3. TS3 won Oscars for best animated feature film and best achievement in music written for motion pictures, original song (Randy Newman/“We Belong Together”). The film also won a Golden Globe and BAFTA for best animated film. It was the second Pixar film to be nominated for the best picture Oscar. It’s also Pixar’s second highest-grossing film of all time behind “Incredibles 2.”

2019 will bring the gang back for some more fun!

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy. Directed by Josh Cooley (“Riley’s First Date?”) and produced by Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out,” “Up”) and Mark Nielsen (associate producer “Inside Out”), Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story 4 ventures to U.S. theaters on June 21, 2019.
