When we think of traveling, there are so many places to see that narrowing down our choices can sometimes be challenging. Add in different interests of various members of the family and the challenge grows.
Below are a few places that should be on everyone’s travel bucket list:
New York City, New York
The sights and sounds of New York City are a must for everyone to experience at least once. The energy of standing in the middle of Times Square with the lights, the people and the activity surrounding you is indescribable.
In addition to Times Square, there is Central Park, which is a beautiful park to walk, bike or rollerblade through. There are carriage rides or rickshaws that will take you around to see the sites.
The diverse neighborhoods of the city make it an amazing cultural experience, from Greenwich Village to Little Italy, there is so much to see or do. Whether you have just a night or a few days to spend, New York City is a must see.
Maui, Hawaii
One of the most beautiful places to see is Maui, Hawaii. Outside of the amazing beautiful beaches and ocean views, the most fabulous sunrises and sunsets can be seen from the summit of the Haleakala Crater.
The downtown area of Lahaina offers many shops and restaurants and believe it or not, some of the best pizza at BJ’s Chicago pizzeria.
If time allows, a trip down the Road to Hana will be well worth it. This is a full day adventure, but the waterfalls and gorgeous beaches along the way will make it a memorable event.
If you have time you could even fit in one of Hawaii’s famous Luau’s.
London, England
Don’t worry about whether you will have sun or rain, when you visit this amazing city, it won’t matter.
The elegance and style of the architecture engulfs you as you wander through the city. There are many must sees for this trip: St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abby, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, 10 Downing Street to name a few. There are amazing parks to stroll through including Hyde Park and St James’s Park, as well as a walk along the Thames.
There is so much to do and see in London that several days are needed to explore it all.
San Francisco, California
The jail cells of Alcatraz and the views of the Golden Gate Bridge are just two of the best reasons to visit San Francisco.
A trip down Lombard Street, the “crookedest street in San Francisco” is certainly worth the experience. On your way back from Fisherman’s Wharf and the tour of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, don’t forget to stop by the Buena Vista for an “Irish Coffee.” This will be sure to provide you with an indulgence and a piece of San Francisco history simultaneously.
St John, US Virgin Islands
When you think of breath taking scenery and white sand beaches, think of St John USVI. Whether you spread your blanket at Trunk Bay, Caneel Bay or Cinnamon Bay, you will instantly relax and be mesmerized by the surrounding beauty.
Amazing snorkeling on a coral reef can be found right from the beach, there is SCUBA diving nearby and seemingly endless strolls on the beach. In addition to its beaches, St John is approximately 2/3 National Park, allowing for plenty of wildlife, nature and preserved beauty as well. There is something for everyone and an absolute must see.
While there are many destinations around the world to see, the locations listed above should absolutely top your list of places to visit. You won’t be sorry!
