Are you thinking about heading to Orlando but can’t leave your pets at home? The great news is that you can bring those furry friends with you! Located on Walt Disney World property, Best Friends Pet Care Center lets the furry part of your family vacation too! The 27,000-square-foot facility offers boarding, daycare and grooming for dogs, cats and other family pets (don’t leave your hamster behind!) in a safe, healthy and fun environment. The facility will even send photos of your pet by text during their stay! The facility is very clean and the staff goes above and beyond. Most mornings can be very busy with new arrivals, so be sure to leave yourself plenty of registration time.

Your pet’s special needs will be monitored closely throughout the day. Best Friends Pet Care requires proof of vaccinations for all dogs and cats, and dogs must also have a negative fecal. Dogs must be current on Rabies, DHPPv/DA2PPv (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus) and Bordetella. Cats must be current on Rabies and FVRCP (Feline Rhinotracheitis Virus, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia). Any medical needs or medications must be disclosed to the staff in advance. Although they welcome all breeds for Individual Play & Stay, certain breeds may not participate in Play & Stay Groups nor will any known aggressive dogs.

All of the accommodations are climate controlled. Standard sizes starting at 4 x 7 or 4 X 8. Dogs are taken out for potty walks twice a day. You are allowed to stop in at any time during operating hours to walk your dog in the doggie park or along the walking trail. Pet-cams can be logged into throughout the day so that you can check on your pet as often as you wish.

Best Friends Pet Care also has indoor and outdoor room suites, Vacation Villas, VIP Luxury Suites, Kitty City and Pocket Pets. If you are staying on Walt Disney World Resort property, the price is a bit discounted. Prices start at $28 to $89 per day depending on your choice of accommodations and/or your pet.

Kitty City is a sanctuary for cats and is housed in a separate wing of the building, protected from the sights, sounds and smells of dogs. They can accommodate up to 24 cats. You can choose a two-room or four-room condos. Each condo has a separate, private relief area; and all condos are individually vented to outdoors.

Pocket Pets: The facility provides a safe little haven for “pocket pets” such as hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and ferrets. You must provide the housing/cage and all supplies (food, bowls, litter, etc.) for your pocket pet.
