What are the benefits of staying at a Disney World Resort?
There are lots of reasons to visit Walt Disney World, but there are increasingly more reasons to go out and explore other resorts and attractions in the Orlando area. That means hotels outside of Walt Disney World may be more enticing. They are certainly cheaper, which could cause you to wonder why you should pay so much to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
It’s a fair question. Disney is a master at unquantifiable value. They can toss in just enough frills with no actual cash value to reference that it is up to the guest to determine if it’s a good or a bad deal.
With that in mind, I believe there are five really good reasons why you should stay at a Walt Disney World resort whether its a value resort all the way up to deluxe and DVC resorts.
Close to the Parks
The Deluxe resorts especially are close to the parks, but anywhere inside Walt Disney World is going to give you better and faster access to the theme parks. This is especially important when you want to arrive before the park opens to get the most out of your day.
Increasingly, lower level resorts are gaining more access via new transit technology like the Disney Skyliner. Meanwhile, the deluxe resorts have always been conveniently placed for a quick walk, or ride to the nearest theme park.
Surrounded By Disney
When you stay at a hotel that’s not a Walt Disney World resort, you lose a little bit of that Disney World magic. Part of the fun of a Disney World vacation is leaving the outside world behind and getting completely surrounded by Disney in all directions.
All the recreation, all the shopping, and all the dining is Disney every step of the way until you step off property.
Disney’s Magical Express
If you don’t stay at a Walt Disney World resort you may be able to find a hotel that offers free shuttle service to the parks, but Walt Disney World also offers complimentary transit to and from the Orlando International Airport. The Disney Magical Express is a motorcoach that takes care of everything when you get off the plane. You just check-in and they direct you to your coach.
You don’t have to go to the baggage claim because Disney collects your bags and takes them to your room for you.
Disney Perks
Besides all the complimentary transportation within Disney World and to the airport, there are additional perks when you stay at a Walt Disney World resort hotel. You have access to extra magic hours which take place at select parks either in the morning or the evening. You get an extra 30 days to reserve Fastpasses and a complimentary MagicBand as well.
Resort Experiences
In addition to the fun you’ll have at the parks and the carefree mobility you’ll enjoy while vacationing at Disney World, a Walt Disney World resort guest can also enjoy several tours and activities at the various resorts. These range from movies under the stars to lessons in Archery.
You can indulge in a spa, or go horseback riding through the wilderness. There is fishing, culinary tours, animal observation trails and so much more to discover when you resort hop or spend a day exploring your own Walt Disney World resort hotel.
