A Tale as Old as Time! Live Action Beauty and the Beast Trailer

The first sneak peek at Disney’s upcoming live-action re-telling of “Beauty and the Beast” is out. Giving audiences a glimpse at the highly anticipated film based on the animated classic which re-fashions the iconic characters and musical numbers from the tale as old as time. The film will stay true to the original music while updating the score and adding several new songs, and will include film stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson. Disney composer Alan Menken, who also scored the 1991 movie, revealed recently that he and his writing partner Tim Rice have created three new songs for the live-action movie. 

“Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

The teaser gives the first look at Emma Watson as Belle, showing her arrival at the Beast’s castle. The castle’s famous residents can also be heard (“Look, it’s a girl!…What if she’s the one?”), as well as a piano version of the movie’s iconic theme.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST opens in theaters everywhere on March 17, 2017!

While the trailer doesn’t offer much in the way of new information, it does show how visually stunning this movie just may end up being.
