This is one of my favorite times of year to visit Epcot at the Walt Disney World® Resort. The festival starts on March 1st and runs through May 17th. The bright, multicolored gardens with their fresh flowery smell just brings peace to my heart. I love it and all of the other activities which go along with it! There is also the Power Flower Concert Series, which the name has been changed to, Garden Rocks Concert Series. It is located at the American Gardens Theater adjacent to the American Adventure Pavilion. All of these shows are free with an admission to Epcot. A few years ago I was blessed to see Davy Jones, from the Monkey’s perform there (not Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean~~Ha, Ha) it was a wonderful blessing to me as I loved the Monkey’s as a child. Many artists perform there every year, Starship, Little River Band, and The Village People are just a few artists on the list of performers for this year. Make sure and go early to get a seat. These concerts are very popular and the seating fills up very quickly.
One of my favorite gardens is Canada, it is so beautiful! It amazes me! The gardens at Canada are inspired by Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island, British Colombia. These gardens are so colorful and are maintained so perfectly! It is such a wonder that gardens like this can go to sleep in such a cold winter and wake up with all of the colors of the rainbow! My next favorite is the Tea Garden hosted by Twinings of London. I love to look at all of the different tea plants, it makes me want to pick the plants and make a fresh cup of tea! There are so many different flavors! I have to have my coffee but, I love tea also, especially Twinings Tea is my favorite.
The next thing I love to do is to take my own pictures of the many gardens and topiaries. I make it a DIY project for my walls. I have many pictures to choose from and have a couple hanging on my walls at home. It is like having a little garden festival at home, and of course my favorite memories to treasure! It is spectacular that the garden experts can make all of the Disney Characters out of plants, and the topiaries they make are just amazing to me! These super horticulturists, and garden experts have seminars all during the festival at different times.
There are also several food and beverage kiosks set up around World Showcase. These outdoor kitchens offer a taste of their nations culture. It is wonderful to have a taste of food and drinks from different countries around the world. It is interesting to taste the difference and similarities of both. There is so much to see and do. This year there is also a topiary scavenger hunt for the kids in all of us. A check off sheet is available.
If you are thinking of taking a trip to, The Walt Disney World® Resort during the year this is a magnificent time to go. It is delightful to see all of the radiant flowers topiaries, and gardens. Next, it is awesome to hear all of the different music, and then taste all of the fantastic food and drinks. Last, but not least are all of the special activities including seminars from the horticulturists and garden experts.I am so excited to be able to go this year!
